Census data can be helpful when researching your family history. It not only provides a snapshot in time of a given area but can provide details of individuals and how they lived. You may find detailed information on an ancestor including the number of children they had, any livestock they owned, and more. Unfortunately not as many individual records have survives as genealogists would have liked, but what’s left is of course very interesting to peruse.
